UFI Code and PCN Notification (Poison Centre Notification)

For mixtures classified as hazardous to health or physical safety, placing products on the European Union market requires submission of product information to designated Poison Centres.

This process is regulated under CLP Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008, Annex VIII and is referred to as Poison Centre Notification (PCN). As part of this requirement, each mixture must be assigned a Unique Formula Identifier (UFI), which must also be displayed on the product label.

The UFI code is a unique identifier linked to the product formulation, enabling Poison Centres to quickly and accurately identify the mixture in case of emergency situations.
